What is the use of Bacteria in medicine or industry?

Well one good example is the production of insulin using bacterial plasmids. The human insulin gene is spliced into a bacterial plasmids. The bacteria are allowed to divide in a vat and reproduce, with the gene activated to allow them to produce human insulin. The bacteria are then killed off, and the insulin separated and purified.

What is the use of Bacteria in medicine or industry?
Bacteria is used in medicine not only for testing and research but also for antibiotics and in industry its used in a lot of ways yogurt it made from live bacterial cultures

yumm eat up!!
Reply:to kill bad things?!
Reply:Bacteria make insulin
Reply:There are full of bacteria when making medicines everywhere, and in every step of the process of making; their uses may be thousands.
Reply:Various micro-organisms, including certain fungi and some bacteria, produce chemical substances that are toxic to specific bacteria. Such substances, which include penicillin and streptomycin, are known as antibiotics; they either kill the bacteria or prevent them from growing or reproducing. In recent years antibiotics have played an increasingly important role in medicine in the control of bacterial diseases.

Other bacteria may be more efficient than yeast at producing alcohol and are being explored in the search for new energy sources.

DNA replicated by the bacteria, with the genetic information it contains expressed by the bacteria. It is thus possible for bacteria to become living factories for scarce biological products such as human insulin, interferon, and growth hormone. It is called genetic engineering.
Reply:There are a lot of way bacteria is used in medicine, such as they are used in anti-biotics.

Genetically modified bacteria is used to make food like yogurt, some pastries, and other types of foods.
