Are all STDs caused by bacteria? Explain your answer.?
actually, many stds are caused by viruses, most notably hiv and herpes, but cervical cancer (caused by hpv, a virus) is now considered an std. also, trichomonas is a protozoan which causes a vaginal infection. bacterial stds would include gonorrhea, chlamydia.

Reply:No...most are from Virus. However, some are from bacteria, fungus, protoza, other! The trend now is to call STD - STI...since they are infections. Viral infections for the most part are non-curable, but the other types (bacteria) are treated with antibiotics. Hope this helps.
